Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. provides commercial data to businesses on credit history, business-to-business sales, marketing, risk exposure, and scoring on a subscription-based platform. Two years ago, I had the pleasure of working with their product team to develop a prototype that explored new technology and a responsive design. At the time, their site had for the most part been untouched since early 2000s. Together we created user stories and flows that explored all possible options that advancements in new technology, social media and mobile devices could offer to their users.

STRATEGY & UX
My primary role was to design a UI that provided an easy experience for their users to adapt to new functionality and tools that never existed before for D&B subscribers. Most importantly, I became a key asset to help explore and develop data visualization for their new scoring system that helps users gauge the risk versus safety for each business.

DESIGN
Understanding the user’s risk and reward for each investment drove the design to be simple yet thorough. Quick browsable templates that utilized hierarchy to display the most important data was necessary for users to analyze as many business in a short amount of time to ensure productivity in their research. The transition from large desktop monitors to mobile devices, made this hierarchy even more crucial to the design.
